Ryan Evans is a founding partner of Juris Law and Mediation, bringing more than a decade of experience as both a courtroom advocate and certified mediator. Born in Florida but raised in Kansas, Ryan’s roots and professional career are firmly grounded in the Kansas City area.
Ryan graduated from Blue Valley Northwest High School, where he lettered in multiple sports and debate, served as a captain of the football team, and was First Team All–Eastern Kansas League. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas, remaining active in competitive athletics and winning multiple intramural softball championships. Ryan went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law and opened his own practice shortly after passing the bar.
Ryan’s early legal career was heavily litigation-focused. Within months of being licensed, he tried his first divorce case and went on to try hundreds of civil and criminal cases. That extensive courtroom experience shaped his understanding of both the power and the cost of litigation. As a result, Ryan has long emphasized mediation and alternative dispute resolution whenever possible to help clients resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
After more than ten years of advocacy work, Ryan completed training to become a Certified Kansas Supreme Court Mediator, expanding his practice to include mediation services. Today, Ryan balances time in the courtroom with a strong preference for resolving disputes outside of it, guiding clients toward practical solutions while remaining fully prepared to litigate when necessary.
As an advocate, Ryan Evans is not afraid to pursue justice as far as it takes. He has taken cases from trial through the court of appeals and has two published appellate decisions, demonstrating his commitment to seeing matters through at every level when necessary.
Outside of the office, Ryan is an avid sports enthusiast and a devoted Kansas City Chiefs season ticket holder. He coaches competitive baseball, has coached multiple youth sports teams for his children, and umpired youth baseball for 17 years. Ryan is also deeply involved in youth education, teaching high school classes focused on practical life skills and volunteering with the First Amendment Foundation to support constitutional education. At home, he enjoys participating in a book club with his children’s elementary school.
Ryan is married to his wife, Emily, an award-winning first-grade teacher. Together they have two children and a very large, very fluffy dog named Calvin.
